Assurace is an inspirational piece for trumpet sextet. It interposes fanfares and lyrical passages throughout and is a showcase for the trumpet’s brilliance and beauty. After an energetic and extended introduction, a solo trumpet states the poignant 4-bar main theme in measure 48. This theme is subsequently visited in a variety of musical settings - fast, slow, major, minor, simple and compound meter. 

After weaving through these diverse emotive settings, the piece finishes as it began - with “assurance”. That word can have several meanings, including “a positive declaration intended to inspire confidence” and “being certain in the mind.” This composition engenders such feelings and should be performed with certitude and boldness.
